Today's blog post is highlighting a beautiful venue I worked with in Cheltenham, where I not only painted a Live Wedding Painting of the couple but also did Live Guest Paintings too!
This picturesque venue is called Manor by The Lake. With Italianate gardens, manicured lawns and topiary, and an fairytale manor house - it was a dream venue to paint at last summer.
Live Wedding Painting in The Italian Gardens
My lovely couple were having their Indian wedding ceremony under the ornate pavilion in the manor's Italian gardens. They had their choice of a few different areas, including the Maximillian room, the lakeside pavilion or the manor arches, but the beautiful layout of the Italian gardens won out for them. The pavilion was a perfect choice, as the traditional red and gold Indian ceremonial decorations made such an eye catching contrast under the white filigree of the gazebo.
A Rococo Style Live Wedding Painting
I was so excited to paint my couple with an elegant background of the pavilion, walkways, topiary and hedgerows. I wanted their oil painting to look straight out a rococo or old master's renaissance painting, and I knew these gardens would work so beautifully with this vision! The golden detail on her lehenga was such a pretty element to paint into the piece, and really elevated the whole live wedding painting.
Live Guest Illustrations at a Stunning Cotswolds Wedding Venue
After the wedding ceremony, the guests moved inside to the Ballroom for dinner, drinks and dancing and I got to work on the Live Guest Paintings. After seeing me paint the couple in the gardens, the guests were so excited that they now had a chance to get their portraits painted too! As the guests were mingling, drinking and eating, I was taking photographs of the guests to work from and painting my mini guest portraits. The guests were able to come up to my table and see the gallery of live guest illustrations and get their own painting. It was such a lovely evening, in a great wedding venue and everyone had an absolutely wonderful time!
