I'm proud to say that I have painted live wedding paintings and live guest illustrations at some beautiful wedding venues, both here in the UK and abroad.
Some of these wedding venues really stand out, so I thought it would be nice to do a venue spotlight blog post on a few of them over the next few weeks!

This amazing venue is The Asylum Chapel in Peckham, London.

An Antique and Ethereal Wedding Venue in London
I painted here for the beautiful wedding of Tara and Paul. I hadn't heard of the venue before, but when I went online to look at the pictures I was blown away. The old layered patina on the walls really adds to the antique and 'abandoned' vibe of the building. With the stunning stained glass I spied in the images, I knew it was going to make a beautiful backdrop to the live wedding painting.

Live Wedding Painting in Watercolour and Live Guest Illustrations
The couple were looking for both a large scale watercolour painting of them at the ceremony and guest paintings of their family and friends to be painted afterwards at their reception. So as soon as I got to the Chapel, I got to work setting up my easel and painting in the beautiful dancing shadows and candlelight with the crumbling walls. There was such a lovely eerie glow around the venue, with the bright colours of the flower arrangements and the unique colourful wedding dress of the bride, it all contrasted really well.

Although it was the hottest day of the year and we were all feeling the effects of the heat, the celebrant Kathryn did a wonderful job filling the space with her joyful energy and Anna the photographer took stunning images of the ceremony!
It was a beautiful wedding in a stunning and very unique wedding venue!
