You may have heard of live wedding painting before. But did you know that live painting is not just for weddings? As a live painter, I also paint guest illustrations at birthdays, festivals, galas and more.
What is Live Guest Painting?
As a quick summary, live guest painting or guest illustrations are quick 10 minute paintings of guests, painted live in watercolour paint and ink. The paintings are displayed in a pop-up gallery at the event, and at the end of the night the guests are able to take their special painting home as a momento of the event! It creates an amazing form of entertainment and a real talking point between guests.

Live Guest Paintings at Birthday Parties
Birthday parties are probably my most requested live painting event, after weddings. When you or a family member has a big milestone birthday party, it's nice to go above and beyond for them on their special day. With lots of excited friends and family attending, a live event painter is a fun addition to the party and creates a real buzz for the party atmosphere. I have been asked to paint at both children's parties and at adult birthday parties, as live painting is an exciting form of entertainment for guests of all ages!
Guest Illustrations at Festivals
I have been fortunate to have been asked to paint at many festivals around the UK. Whether it be a music festival or even a food festival, live painting lends its self well to the festival experience. In a festival environment, people are looking for interesting forms of entertainment to keep themselves busy and are looking to have fun throughout the day. Watching an artist paint portraits live , and then getting to take a personalised portrait home as a special momento of the day, is a very unique and exciting opportunity for festival goers.
Live Guest Painting at Corporate Events
Live painting at corporate events can be varied and exciting with the types of paintings that are required. I have painted guests at fashion events in London, which was a great way to echo the creative elements of the evening. I've been asked to paint employees at a company to honour them for International Women's Day. I also been asked to paint guests at Alumni events to say thank you to colleagues from the past and present of the organisation. So there are many different exciting ways to use live painting to honour and entertain your guests at corporate events!
