Recently, I had the most amazing experience doing a live wedding painting for my newlywed couple, Corey and Artika, at the stunning Cotswold venue in Cheltenham - Manor by The Lake !
Have a look through this post to see how their beautiful live painting came together throughout their wedding day.

Painting the live wedding painting in a stunning stately home, formal gardens
The couple and I had decided the the beautiful Italian Gardens at the venue would be the perfect backdrop for their live wedding painting. There was a stunning white, cast iron gazebo in the centre of the manicured gardens that was decorated with pink floral wreaths and white roses. In the composition of the painting, I placed the white gazebo in the background towards the left hand side, as I wanted the couple to be slightly off centre to the right, to balance out the piece. I knew these flowers and the filigree of the cast iron gazebo would add a really elegant flair to their finished live wedding oil painting.
Wedding guests' reactions to the live wedding painting, during the Hindu ceremony
As this was a Hindu wedding ceremony, guests were able to move about freely to get water, drinks and to stretch their legs. I was painting at the back of the ceremony, which gave me a clear view down the centre aisle to see the couple clearly and the view I need to paint for the wedding painting. As guests passed by my easel during the ceremony, they were so excited to see the painting come to life. It was so lovely to see the amazement and joy on their faces as they saw the oil painting come together during the ceremony!
Painting live guest illustrations at the wedding reception
After the ceremony, I finished as much of the live wedding painting as possible before taking it back to my studio for touch ups. I then got ready to paint their lovely guests during the reception. The guest illustrations take 10-15 mins each and are painted in watercolour to they are dry and ready for guests to take home at the end of the night. All of the guests loved looking at the finished paintings on the mini pop up gallery on the table, and were overjoyed that they got to take their special live painting home with them as an amazing wedding favour!
The finished live wedding painting on canvas
After the wedding, I continued the touch ups of the oil panting of the couple. I added in the special details, like the beautiful gold embroidery on her lehenga and the greenery of the formal stately gardens around them. When the oil painting was dry, I varnished it to ensure that the piece will last a lifetime at the highest quality, and to give it a deep and lustrous finish.
I sent the finished wedding painting to Corey and Artika and they were absolutely overjoyed! They can't wait to frame and put their live wedding painting up in their home to remind them of their stunning wedding day for the rest of their lives together!
